This turn-of-the-century building was originally constructed in 1908 as one of three childrenís homes under the influence of Martin Van Arsdale, founder of the Childrenís Home and Aid Society of Illinois. Sitting on three acres of ground donated by DuQuoin businessman, Sam Eaton, the home housed hundreds of homeless children for thirty-nine years. The home was later abandoned and fell into disrepair until Francie and Tom Morgan purchased and restored the property.
