We are a short distance to the North Gate of the beautiful DuQuoin State Fairgrounds ... a great place to picnic, exercise, bird watch or enjoy the annual events.

Du Quoin is located on U.S. Route 51 with Interstate 57 nearby leading to the north and Interstate 24 and Interstate 57 leading to the south. Du Quoin is also in close to Interstate 64 which services the area from St. Louis to Louisville. Within a 30-mile radius there are six Golf courses open to the public. Du Quoin is 20 minutes north of Carbondale, Illinois, the home of Southern Illinois University, a nationally known educational institution. The nearby Shawnee National Forest with its 250,000 acres of rugged topography has many recreational activities including fishing, swimming and boating.

Crafts, gifts, antiques, collectibles and a variety of eating establishments plus a movie theater are all within walking distance of the Inn. If you don't feel like making the drive, take the Train! Amtrak has a scheduled stop in DuQuoin and Carbondale from the North and South. Let us know if we can pick you up at the station.
